Laser eye surgery for myopia: How the correction of myopia becomes possible
Myopia occurs when light rays are focused in front of the retina – usually due to the eyeball being too long or the refractive power being too high.
The aim of the laser treatment is to reshape the cornea so that the image appears exactly on the retina again – just like in an eye with normal vision.
