Farsightedness corrected: Never see out of focus again
Farsightedness – medically known as hyperopia – means that close-up objects appear blurred, reading is a strain and glasses are a constant burden.
Depending on its severity, this visual defect becomes noticeable sooner or later – often gradually, but increasingly disruptive in everyday life.
The good news is that this visual defect can now be reliably corrected – permanently and safely.
Hyperopia in conjunction with myopia or astigmatism? No problem:
Many patients not only have long-sightedness, but also a slight astigmatism or incipient short-sightedness.
At Smartlaser, such combinations are not an obstacle, but are part of everyday practice.
With the right method, several visual defects can be corrected at the same time – for a life without glasses or contact lenses.
Living glasses-free - even with long-sightedness
- 1. See clearly in any everyday situation
- 2. No more dependence on glasses
- 3. Systematic vision - once corrected, permanently sharp
Whether reading, cooking, working or doing sport – no more constant focusing, no more reaching for your glasses. A clear view of the beautiful things in life.
Forget searching, cleaning and carrying. The new freedom begins with sharp vision from the moment you get up – until you go to bed in the evening.
The refractive power is permanently adjusted. The result: a clear image – near and far, without any readjustment. Correction is possible at any time.
SmartLaser offers the perfect solution: Femto-LASIK or PRK
💡 How does it work?
A wafer-thin flap is precisely prepared with the femtosecond laser. The excimer laser then models the cornea in a targeted manner so that the light rays are focused precisely on the retina - just like in an eye with normal vision.
- Fast healing, usually within 24-48 hours
- High visual comfort immediately after the procedure
- Ideal for +1.0 to +4.0 diopters of hyperopia
PRK is used when Femto-LASIK is not suitable, e.g. for certain corneal shapes or occupational restrictions.
- No flap formation - robust & safe
- Longer healing time, but permanently good result
- Suitable for values up to approx. +2.5 diopters hyperopia
We check your suitability in detail - and only recommend what really makes sense for your eyes.
3 steps to a new life without visual defects:
Today, farsightedness can be corrected precisely, quickly and permanently. At SmartLaser, we accompany you step by step - professionally, personally and safely.
- 1. Preliminary examination
- 2. Refractive surgery
- 3. Aftercare
We record all relevant data in our comprehensive preliminary examination:
Corneal thickness, refractive power, pupil size, diopter values – and clarify whether there is a combination with other visual defects.
- Duration: approx. 60 minutes
- Cost: € 150 (valid for 3 months)
- Including individual recommendation by our medical specialists
On the day of treatment, your long-sightedness will be permanently corrected using the ideal procedure for you – Femto-LASIK or PRK.
The procedure itself only takes a few minutes per eye and is completely painless.
- Precise reshaping of the cornea
- No injection, no anesthetic – just eye drops
- Afterwards: short rest period and walk home with an escort
We stay by your side after the procedure:
Two follow-up checks within 4 months are included in the price.
- Control examinations to ensure the healing process
- Individual care instructions and drop plan
- Quick return to everyday life – without glasses or contact lenses
Am I suitable for laser eye surgery for long-sightedness?
Not everyone is automatically suitable for laser treatment for hyperopia (long-sightedness) - but at SmartLaser we check this very carefully.
-
Femto-LASIK 7D:
→ +0.5 to +4.0 dpt hyperopia (can also be combined with astigmatism)
→ ideal for stable values and sufficiently thick cornea -
PRK:
→ +0.5 to +2.5 dpt
→ useful for thin corneas or special requirements (e.g. certain professions) -
Trans-PRK:
→ usually not recommended for long-sightedness, as the tissue suitability is too low

Basic requirements for laser eye surgery:
-
Age from approx. 18 years, with stable diopter values for at least 12 months
-
No acute eye diseases, inflammations or chronic corneal diseases
-
Sufficient corneal thickness for the planned ablation
-
No pregnancy or breastfeeding at the time of surgery
-
No untreated systemic diseases that affect wound healing

Statutory health insurance does not usually cover the costs of correcting long-sightedness, as this is a refractive, aesthetic procedure. However,
Private supplementary insurance or special class tariffs may allow for subsidies or reimbursement – we will be happy to assist you with the application.
Have presbyopia / presbyopia lasered:
Not all long-sightedness is the same:
Presbyopia is not a classic visual defect such as hyperopia, but an age-related restriction in the ability to accommodate.
This means:
With increasing age, the lens of the eye loses its elasticity.
It can no longer curve sufficiently to bring close objects into focus – vision at close range becomes blurred, especially when reading or working at a screen.
Laser eye surgery for presbyopia: other procedures are better
Classic laser eye correction (e.g. with Femto-LASIK or PRK) is only suitable to a limited extent for pure presbyopia, as the loss of accommodation cannot simply be “lasered away”.
Alternative procedures such as PresbyMAX or multifocal lens techniques offer an individual solution especially for the correction of presbyopia.
At SmartLaser, we are also happy to advise you on this – honestly, transparently and with your visual goals in mind.
